I was shocked by the failure of the oil pump on my 2019 BMW X5. Furthermore, through my research and discussions within the BMW community, it is evident that this specific oil pump associated with 2019 engine component has a documented history of premature failure and known defects (plastic). On July 4th, 2026 we were driving home in a storm. The windshield wipers failed while in the automatic setting, completely shutting off, creating a safety hazard. We pulled to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. Afther the reboot they had resarted, but agian failed within ten minutes. I purchased my 2024 BMW X5 new at BMW Alexandria, Virginia it’s have approximately 34,000 miles . I have taken X5 into dealer warranty repairs regarding malfunction emergency call system since May 2026. Total 3 visits to dealer to resolve this issues has been unsuccessful in resolving the issues . Low oil pressure light came on during interstate drive. Later analysis at dealership revealed this is related to faulty oil pump with plastic parts in B58 engine.

Drive Shaft Failed a second time within a year. This time they are saying the Differential stripped it this time. Both incidents i was on highway and car completed stalled out of the randomly no warning or alerts both times on interstate. BMW just provided services to my car i had front brakes replaced, oil change and open recall of starter repaired. Everything checked out to be good along with drive shaft and differential. Now they need replaced per BMW.

I replaced my starter prior to a recall that was issued. After the recall, I submitted a claim for reimbursement and the check was issued. Bmw of North American has not updated the recall information associated with my vin. I am this unable to list my vehicle on any rental platform as it is showing a status of an open recall for the starter. The repair was done in September, 2025 and I was reimbursed 3 weeks ago.
