2023 BMW X5
Filed Jun 23, 2026
Sunroof leaks into cabin and there is no known solution for this model year 2023 BMW X5. It is my understanding that model years 2020-2023 all have this issue and a class action lawsuit is being reviewed. BMW has also issued a TSIB but there is no known recall. They will replace the seals under warranty but that is only a 2-3 year solution and will need to be redone.
2021 BMW X7
Filed Jun 23, 2026
I am writing to report a critical safety concern regarding BMW vehicles equipped with the B58 Technical Update (B58TU) engine, specifically including my 2021 BMW X7. While my vehicle has not yet experienced a failure, I am filing this report due to the severe safety hazard and widespread nature of the variable-displacement engine oil pump defect. This pump contains an internal thermoplastic adjusting component that is prone to sudden fracture, resulting in an erratic or complete loss of engine…
2015 BMW 528I
Filed Jun 23, 2026
the vehicle was driven for approximately 30 minutes, operating with zero dashboard warnings or performance indicators. The vehicle was then parked on my property and turned off completely. Approximately two hours and thirty minutes later, the vehicle spontaneously ignited while stationary and unoccupied. The local fire department responded and successfully extinguished the blaze. Both physical observations and my home security camera footage confirm that the point of origin was the front right…

Low oil sensor continues to light up and says i am low on oil. Found out that my oil pump was the main cause of the issue. At this time I have to have the oil pump replaced. It was also determined there have been numerous reports regarding oil pump failure in the 2020 BMW x7 due to an internal plastic part.
2018 BMW 640XI
Filed Jun 22, 2026
The contact owns a 2018 BMW 640XI. The contact stated that while pulling up to a red traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the engine revved unexpectedly, and the vehicle unintendedly accelerated and drove forward approximately 3-feet. The contact turned the vehicle off and restarted the engine and the engine continued to rev very high. The vehicle was restarted a second time and the unintended revving ceased and the vehicle operated normally. The following morning the vehicle…

The contact owns a 2012 BMW 528XI. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was a misfire coming from the engine with the Drivetrain Malfunction message displayed. The contact later received a notification for an unknown recall, and a diagnostic test was performed however, no failure was found for the drivetrain. The recall repair was performed. Recently, the contact stated that the vehicle would shut off soon after it was started. The vehicle was taken to an independent…
2020 BMW X3
Filed Jun 22, 2026
I own a 2020 BMW X3 M40i, VIN [XXX], manufactured November 2019, now at approximately 100,000 miles, equipped with the B58TU engine. My oil level sensor stopped completing measurements at approximately 45,000 miles, a known precursor to thermoplastic oil pump failure. For 55,000 miles I had no way to identify whether my vehicle contained the defective component because BMW removed the original thermoplastic part number from all dealer networks. VIN-based lookup now falsely returns updated…

2004 BMW M3
Filed Jun 22, 2026
Below is a partial email to a BMW Dealer that replaced an airbag 2 1/2 years ago per a recall. The airbag light, convertible top light were both illuminated when I left the dealer. I have sent emails and contacted BMW USA. A friend scanned the car with a Snap-On scanner that showed that the light has been illuminated because of the air bag that they replaced. They continue to avoid the issue and they made my car unsafe and allowed me to leave with it. What can be done to resolve this issue? …
2026 BMW X2
Filed Jun 22, 2026
I am requesting an executive review of my ongoing case regarding my 2026 BMW X2. Since purchasing the vehicle approximately seven months ago, I have experienced several recurring issues that remain unresolved despite numerous visits to the dealership and multiple communications with BMW Customer Relations. The primary concerns include: • A loud and persistent noise coming from the rear driver's side of the vehicle. • A recurring check engine light. • A reverse warning notification appearing on…
