Subject: Safety Complaint – 2025 BMW X7 LED Headlights Provide Insufficient Road Illumination Vehicle: 2025 BMW X7 Category: Exterior Lighting – Headlights Issue: Severely inadequate nighttime visibility Complaint: I am reporting a serious safety concern with the LED headlights on the 2025 BMW X7. The headlights provide poor road illumination, especially at night and on unlit roads. The beam pattern is too low, too narrow, and fails to illuminate critical portions of the roadway. This…

On August 19, 2026, my 2022 BMW X7 xDrive40i experienced multiple safety\-related warnings at approximately 50,411–50,427 miles\. The vehicle first displayed “Increased steering effort” and instructed me to drive carefully to a service center\. It then displayed a red power\-supply warning stating: “Stop carefully\. Do not continue driving\. Continued driving will lead to malfunction of safety relevant functions\. Battery cannot be recharged\. Call Roadside Assistance\.” A drivetrain warning…

Our vehicle's check engine light came on, and we took it to the dealership as it is still under factory warranty. The dealership determined upper radiator blind slat was broken and detached due to an impact. I completely disagree as there is no signs of impact, and there are only signs that this is a poorly designed part. About two weeks after this first event, I was looking for a way to fix this myself as the dealership was wanting close to $2,500 for repairs. While inspecting, I noticed…

Under FMVSS 101, if a screen experiences a momentary black screen or reset cycle while driving, it is considered non-compliant because the driver loses immediate access to the speedometer, safety and ADAS functions of the vehicle. The OEM (BMW North America) does not acknowledge this issue in their vehicles and ignores repairs violating NHTSA standards.

On May 28, 2025, my 2023 BMW X7 underwent BMW recall B340224. Repair Order 669956 specifically states: “0077067 REPLACING INTEGRATED BRAKING SYSTEM.” After this recall repair and replacement of the Integrated Braking System, the vehicle began experiencing abnormal and potentially dangerous braking behavior that did not exist before the recall repair. The brake pedal can initially feel unusually soft or have excessive travel, followed by sudden and aggressive braking. In slow traffic and…

This happened on my vehicle. Oil pump is supposed to last life of the vehicle per BMW. This left me stranded on the side of the road for hours and now is costing $9k to replace oil pump. My car has less than 100k miles. I'm reporting a safety issue with BMW vehicles equipped with the B58TU engine, primarily 2019-2021 models. These vehicles have an oil pump with an internal plastic component that regulates oil pressure, and this part is fracturing in the field, causing sudden loss of oil…

The entire car shut down while on the highway with no prior notifications on/from the system. The entire safety of myself and family was put at risk because there where several cars behind us on the highway that could have hit us. I am not sure the dealer has been able to reproduce the issue - Unknown. There was no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure or the car shutting off on the highway.

ERROR MESSAGE ON SCREEN STATING RIGHT 3RD ROW SEAT NOT LATCHED. THE SEAT WORKS PROPERLY BUT IT POPS UP EVERY TIME YOU START THE CAR. THE DEALER SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE APPARENT RECALL FOR OTHER LIKE VEHICLES. SEE (NHTSA Recall 22V670000) for 2019–2022 models). THIS IS REALLY SAD.

Just over 50k miles and barely out of warranty, the pinion bearing in the front differential failed. This is a known issue with many people on BMW forums reporting the same failure in 8 cylinder X7's. Some failures occurred in vehicles with less than 30k miles, but most seem to happen in the 40-50k mile range. This is a $10k repair and BMW does not offer an upgraded replacement part, they just replace it with the same part so the issue will reoccur. BMW should be made to replace the failing…

I am reporting a safety concern involving BMW vehicles equipped with the B58 Technical Update (B58TU) engine, commonly found in model years 2019–2021. These vehicles utilize a variable-displacement engine oil pump containing an internal thermoplastic adjusting component responsible for regulating oil pressure. Field failures are increasingly being reported in which this internal component fractures, resulting in sudden loss or instability of engine oil pressure/lubrication. Loss of lubrication…
