Driving the car from Dallas to Santa Fe with our 20lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, the dog put his paw on the Park button (just in front of the console cover and behind the shifter knob) and the car immediately went into a hard braking action. Water began accumulating in the front footwell area of the vehicle, resulting in a soaked carpet and persistent musty odor. The condition developed during normal operation of the air conditioning system, without any external water intrusion (no flooding or open windows). In 2026, a 2020 BMW X2 was involved in a 40-50 mph, 60-80 degree driver-side impact. The vehicle rotated 40-80 degrees to the right and struck a curb with enough force to shear both front axles and cause multiple tire explosions. This vehicle was sold to me as new without disclosing the open recall. I purchased the vehicle on 08.01.2024. The recall was issued on 02.12.2024, five months earlier. This recall affects the electronic breaking system(s). There is no current fix/solution to the recall at this time. The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act prohibits dealerships from selling new vehicles with active recalls.

While driving on the interstate, the drivetrain malfunction warning appeared causing the car to become limp. This limp mode caused a sudden inability to accelerate in a lane requiring mobility to avoid collision with merging right lane traffic. Rear brake light bulb housing assemblies melted plastic around metal bulbs contacts. Both tail light assemblies has failed three times each. This issue has occurred on multiple BMW X2s.
