2026 GENESIS GV80

Filed Aug 25, 2026

This car has stalled 3 times. Randomly, but each time while car was fully stopped. Once when I was sitting in a parking lot about to pull into traffic, and when waiting for a light to go from red to green. After these two times I took car to dealer. They ran diagnostics and said there were NO error codes. They tried to reproduce but could not. I asked them to reset all computers in car, which they did. But it happened again yesterday. This third time, weather is nice, about 68 degrees. I had…

2022 GENESIS GV80

Filed Aug 24, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 Genesis GV80. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V229000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the two local dealers had shut down, and the other authorized dealers were extremely far away. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and a case was filed. The contact had not experienced a failure.

2026 GENESIS GV70

Filed Aug 24, 2026

The vehicle intermittently and unexpectedly shifts itself from Drive (D) into Park (P) while completely stopped in active traffic. When traffic moves and the accelerator is pressed, the engine revs safely in place, but the vehicle does not move because it has uncommandedly entered Park. The driver must quickly apply the brake and manually shift back into Drive to avoid being rear-ended. This has occurred on 6 separate occasions within the first two months of ownership, creating an immediate,…

2017 GENESIS G80

Filed Aug 23, 2026

This vehicle experienced an engine overheating failure while driving, five days after a cooling-system repair (radiator hoses, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs) had been completed at the dealership. The dashboard displayed an explicit Engine has overheated warning, and the vehicle could not continue to be driven. The vehicle was returned to the dealership. Per their own written statement, there were no signs of engine damage related to the overheating concern at that time. The vehicle's own…

2019 GENESIS G70

Filed Aug 22, 2026

I own a 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T Twin-Turbo V6, VIN [XXX], with approximately 122,000 miles. Twice within approximately two weeks, the vehicle has suddenly and unexpectedly experienced a near-total loss of propulsion while being driven. Without warning, the engine begins shaking and sputtering severely, the Check Engine Light illuminates, and the vehicle provides almost no usable acceleration. The engine does not completely stall but operates barely above a stalled condition. After safely…

Crash

On June 18 at approximately 9:50 p.m., I was driving my 2026 Genesis GV80 (6,493 miles) on a highway where traffic was reduced to one lane due to road paving. Traffic was heavily congested. I came to a complete stop behind a tractor-trailer on a flat/level roadway and remained stationary for approximately 30–40 seconds with my foot on the brake. The vehicle's automatic start/stop feature had been manually disabled. While completely stopped, the vehicle unexpectedly began moving forward toward…

2025 GENESIS GV80

See attached document for complaint.

2023 GENESIS GV80

Filed Aug 21, 2026

At approximately 68k miles, I observed hesitation when pulling away from a stop in our 2023 GV80 2.5t AWD Prestige. At 71,300 miles, we observed an increasing howling noise from the rear of the vehicle, primarily at coasting, with various tones emitted during application and release of the accelerator pedal. The rear differential fluid was drained for inspection, and there were metal shavings accumulated on the drain magnet, discolored (metallic shavings) fluid, and visible shiny metal flakes…

2022 GENESIS G80

Filed Aug 20, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 Genesis G80. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, three seconds later the vehicle hesitated, and the vehicle lost power. The contact was able to turn off and restart the vehicle, and the vehicle started working as intended. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure only occurred in hot weather. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact…

2022 GENESIS G90

Filed Aug 20, 2026

In June 2026, after warranty repairs were performed on the vehicle's navigation/display system, a new safety-related problem occurred. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the rearview/backup camera image does not appear on the display. Instead, the navigation map remains on the screen. The vehicle has been at an authorized Genesis dealership since June 4, 2026, and the backup camera problem remains unresolved. The dealership has reproduced and confirmed the problem. According to the…
