Genesis GV70

While driving at 35mph on a straight section of road the warning sounded, the display said steering wheel locked and I could not turn the steering wheel for about 5 seconds, then it returned to normal operation. We bought the car new in July 2025. I found numerous posts on line describing similar or worse experiences. The dealership performed tests and could not determine a cause.

While exiting a highway at normal speed and with no impact, collision, or obstacle of any kind, the airbags in this 2023 Genesis GV70 deployed spontaneously. The unexpected deployment caused me to lose control of the vehicle, and a three-car collision followed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was not made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure.
