Genesis GV80

This car has stalled 3 times. Randomly, but each time while car was fully stopped. Once when I was sitting in a parking lot about to pull into traffic, and when waiting for a light to go from red to green. After these two times I took car to dealer. They ran diagnostics and said there were NO error codes. They tried to reproduce but could not. I asked them to reset all computers in car, which they did. But it happened again yesterday. The contact owns a 2022 Genesis GV80. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V229000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the two local dealers had shut down, and the other authorized dealers were extremely far away. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and a case was filed. The contact had not experienced a failure.

At approximately 68k miles, I observed hesitation when pulling away from a stop in our 2023 GV80 2.5t AWD Prestige. At 71,300 miles, we observed an increasing howling noise from the rear of the vehicle, primarily at coasting, with various tones emitted during application and release of the accelerator pedal. The rear differential fluid was drained for inspection, and there were metal shavings accumulated on the drain magnet, discolored (metallic shavings) fluid, and visible shiny metal flakes…

On June 30, 2026 at approximately 1:13 PM EDT, my wife was maneuvering with the transmission in Drive to park our vehicle in the lot of our home. While in Drive, the driver's seat unexpectedly moved backward on its own, consistent with the vehicle's Easy Access seat memory feature activating.
