Loss of all audible components after start up (Infotainment system has Android Auto 5.1.17 system installed); no turn signal sound, no back up or lane departure audible alert. This is dangerous because the system can fail to confirm whether the turn signal is on or whether there is hazardous condition outside. Had to perform a complete system reboot to resolve the issue. The reboot is hazardous during driving condition as it is a distraction to the driver. This is issue has been happening on…

After Volvo’s software update 5.1.17 was installed, all sound in the vehicle including all warning alerts, turn signals, stereo, etc. have no sound. If you reboot the system it MIGHT work, but it reverts back to not working once it is parked. Does not show any alerts when you’re close to an object. I have serious concerns about any of my safety systems working properly.

Back to my Initial seat belt on the same car. The car went in for service. The seat belt data showed it was fine. Again the belt pulled so aggressively it tore off my insulin pump patch by sliding upward aggressive as possible. After I took the car to Volvo they had some guy from corporate come look at computer data about the vehicle and test drive it and deemed it safe. I get the car back and zero work was done to the seat belt. The seat belt is harder to pull than it was before it went in.…

In the four months that I have owned this car, the following issues have occurred and have not been resolved: - Google Maps suddenly stopped working while navigating while I was driving on multiple occasions. - Bluetooth connectivity will disconnect suddenly and not reconnect - All audio in the car has stopped since 7/2/26. This includes turn signals, safety alerts, cross traffic alert. This has happened on at least 4 separate occasions (lasting 2 days or more) and usually resolves, but this…

2016 VOLVO XC60

Filed Jul 1, 2026

The contact owns a 2016 Volvo XC60. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the low oil warning light illuminated. The contact pulled into a gas station, exited the vehicle, raised the hood of the vehicle, and added engine oil to the engine. The contact stated that while buckling the seat belt, the air bag warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that…

The entire right ride of the car just stopped working. Back right door became permanently locked and could not open from outside or inside. When hitting lock/unlock buttons on key fob i) front passenger door would not lock/unlock and ii) right side mirror would not fold in/out. Blind spot monitor and TPMS said they needed service. Left side of car was fine and worked. Car would start normally. I checked all relevant fuses and none were blown. Then all of a sudden it all started working again.…

2026 VOLVO XC60PHEV

The vehicle suffered an incident of Sudden Unintended Acceleration while slowly turning right, into a level parking space. Drivers foot was on the brake, but the car suddenly accelerated and surged forward. The car did not stop, even with strong brake pressure, until it hit the curb and almost hit a pedestrian. We called SOS to have Volvo pick up car to be towed to the dealership. I consider this to be a severe liability and unsafe to drive. The XC 60 accident happened on the second day and…

2023 VOLVO XC60

The backup camera system on this vehicle is ineffective and creates a significant safety hazard. Rather than providing a clear view of what is behind the vehicle, the camera is aimed downward, displaying primarily the ground immediately behind the rear bumper and only about two feet beyond it. As a result, it does not provide visibility of approaching vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, or other obstacles behind the vehicle. This severely limits the camera's usefulness when backing out of parking…

Crash

The contact owns a 2018 Volvo XC60. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, while driving at a slow speed, the brake pedal was depressed while approaching a speed pump and the vehicle unintendedly accelerated and drove at a high rate of speed before crashing into a fence. The contact stated that the vehicle had exceeded 40 MPH. During the crash, the front end of the vehicle was damaged; however, no air bags were deployed. The contact was not injured. The Police and EMS were called…
