2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jul 14, 2026

On 7/9/2026, my 2022 VW Taos was brought to the dealer for being severely underpowered, check engine lights on, and a strong raw fuel smell inside the vehicle. On 7/10/2026, the dealer stated the vehicle was ready, claiming they replaced a turbo charge pipe O-ring. The service advisor verbally stated the vehicle had been successfully test-driven for 5 miles on streets and the highway. However, official paperwork only stated cleared faults verified no leaks in system, vehicle is now operating as…

2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jul 9, 2026

I purchased a 2023 VW Taos SE about a year ago (May 2025) as CPO less than 7k miles. It is still under the warranty; however, I already had to bring this Taos to the VW dealership for 3x. First was A/C was not cool enough. They found a leak. In June 2026, I had to bring due to the engine light being on. They found out EVAP fuel leak detection pump being faulty. And less than 1 month later (July 2026), once again the engine light came on.  This time apparently EVAP canister is the problem and…

2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jul 9, 2026

While driving at highway speeds, the a low coolant caution light came on. We immediately pulled over before the engine overheated and added coolant and brought the vehicle in for repairs. This Taos currently has 43,000 miles and needs its head gasket replaced for the SECOND time. The first head gasket was replaced on 12/23 with 16,000 miles under a technical bulletin by VW. This is a know issue for this vehicle. With a head gasket failure, this can lead to engine overheating and seizing. This…

2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jul 4, 2026

am reporting a recurring rear brake issue with my vehicle. The rear brake pads and rotors have required replacement approximately every 20,000 miles, which appears abnormal given that the front brake pads have never required replacement and are still measuring approximately 8 mm. The rear brakes have worn prematurely and unevenly compared with the front brakes despite normal driving conditions. I am concerned this may indicate a defect involving the rear braking system, electronic parking…

2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jul 1, 2026

There have been multiple complaints of the mechatronics unit failing prematurely. I am facing that right now and it should be under warranty but is being challenged. So many people have mentioned the mechatronics unit failing prematurely upon research and discussion with the dealership. The car stalled on the freeway and I was unable to accelerate. It was confirmed and being worked on by the dealer. All regular maintenance has been done. “Trans in emergency mode. You can keep driving.” Showed…

2025 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jun 30, 2026

My Toas since purchase, will lose its safety features for an indefinite amount of time. It will come back and go away. I have photo documentation of this. It will also at random times apply the brakes because it thinks I'm going to collide with something when nothing is there. This vehicle is faulty

2025 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

The contact owns a 2025 Volkswagen Taos. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V258000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The parts for the recall repair were on back order. The contact stated that two local dealers were contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a…

2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jun 28, 2026

The engine coolant is leaking and the cylinder head gasket is leaking at the back of the engine. This requires full replacement. This is a known issue with Technical Service Bulletin 15-23-01 from Volkswagen back in 2023, and both VW and our Dealership are refusing to cover the costs of replacement.

2026 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jun 27, 2026

Brand-new 2026 VW Taos purchased Nov 28, 2025. Within 6 days (Dec 4), both front doors became severely misaligned and detached from proper positioning. Visually, the body line from the rear doors is completely uneven. The vehicle had 5 repair attempts for this issue. Four attempts at Volkswagen Cypress between December and January. They made temporary adjustments, but the doors misaligned again on their own. After waiting 3 months, VW Corporate unjustly denied my buyback request on June 1.I…

2024 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS

Filed Jun 23, 2026

Since the first weeks of ownership, my 2024 Volkswagen Taos has exhibited a persistent brake system defect: loud metallic grinding/scraping/squealing noise when braking, vibration when braking, and sensation that brakes are not engaging properly. The defect affects both front and rear brakes. At approximately 9,000 miles, the authorized dealer found the left rear brake caliper stuck and worn out — replaced caliper, pads, and rotors. The problem recurred within 3 weeks. On the second visit…
