Moving about 55 miles per hour on right lane of I-95 the Jeep in front of me braked abruptly. I braked hard but as my Sienna was quickly slowing down to stop, the brake pad felt spongy when it was slower and as I pressed even harder, it seemed to have stopped decelerating at that slower speed and that was when my Sienna slammed into the back of the Jeep. We purchased a used 2025 Toyota Sienna a few weeks ago. The other day, my husband put his phone and wallet into the center console compartment and closed the lid. When we went to retrieve those items, the lid only opened partially. When the hardware comes off the guide rail, it hits the window behind the door and shatters in covering the interior and occupants with glass. While driving on the freeway with my small children in the backseat a loud pop sounded and glass from the moon roof came shattering down upon us.
