Almost had an accident due to the brake master, actuator and booster pump assemblies, failing. There were no warning lights alerting me to an issue. Just lost ability to break and car shut off completely while in motion.

I was driving my 2015 prius for years and occasionally the brake, abs and traction light would come on this is a sign of a failing Brake actuator and booster. Toyota and the Ntsb ordered the following warranty enhancement https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10181800-9999.pdf My Brake Booster had been exhibiting signs of failing for years and I tried to get a toyota dealership to replace and repair the parts under the warranty extension but I was told I had to wait until I had…

Code C1391 200k miles All the warning signs for brake booster issue came up. The cost is too high and I just missed the Customer Support Program timelines because the code came up late. This needs to be a RECALL, based on how many people experience this issue consistently.

2017 TOYOTA PRIUS

Filed May 19, 2026

The catalytic converter heat exchanger failed internally, causing coolant to leak into the exhaust system. Symptoms included white smoke from exhaust and coolant loss with no visible ground leak. This is a documented factory defect per Toyota Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0135-19 affecting 2016-2019 Prius models. Toyota has denied warranty coverage despite the vehicle was originally bought & spent its entire prior operational life registered in New York, a state covered under Toyota's full…

2023 TOYOTA PRIUS

What component failed: The rear plastic trim on my 2023 Toyota Prius cracked without any impact, accident, or external cause. The component is still on the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: While this is primarily a structural/cosmetic defect, cracking plastic trim that was not caused by the owner suggests a broader manufacturing quality issue. If this type of failure occurs in components closer to safety systems, it could pose a more serious risk. Confirmed by…
