2018 HONDA CIVIC TYPE R
Filed May 28, 2026
It is a common issue on the Honda Civic Type R from 2017 to 2021 in which water will leak through the hood scoop causing water to drip onto cylinder 4 causing a misfire. Misfire No. 4 Cylinder (DTC P0304). There is a TSB for it under 25-062 for this same issue. Water could enter the hood scoop and accumulate down inside the no. 4 spark plug hole. This can corrode the ignition coil, plug tube, and spark plug, leading to a misfire to the no. 4 cylinder. If a misfire is detected, DTC P0304 is…

For a few years now, my 2018 Honda Civic with less than 50,000 miles has had sticky/notchy steering. The dealer told me the steering rack needs to be replaced for over $4000, but that they didn't want to repair it because a Honda tech was coming to look at these issues. They indicated that they seem to think this should be a recall situation. I have seen many people with the same exact issue, and even similar recalls by Honda that ignore the 2018 10th generation. This needs to be investigated…

2019 HONDA CIVIC

I am reporting a serious ongoing issue with my 2019 Honda Civic Sport involving the trunk repeatedly opening on its own both while driving and while parked. The issue is also causing the vehicle alarm to activate unexpectedly. The trunk has opened while the vehicle was in motion, creating a major safety concern. It also randomly opens while parked, sometimes triggering the alarm system for no apparent reason. The problem appears to happen intermittently but has become frequent enough that I no…

When you driving at any speed but mainly when the vehicle is traveling at least 45 mph or more. When you have to abruptly stop, occasionally you will hear a bike horn sound. I have no clue what's causing it and/or where the noise is coming from.

2016 HONDA CIVIC

My 2016 Honda Civic's rack and pinion needs to be replaced due to sticky, stiff steering, and dead spots when turning. The vehicle has not been any accidents and has been regularly maintained and I only have 67,000 miles on it. I searched the internet and see that it is a common problem with Honda Civics. The repair is $4,000 to fix. Replacing a rack and pinion is not a normal wear and tear type of item, especially without an accident and considering regular maintenance has been performed.
