While driving down [XXX] in [XXX] engine had a major failure causing the loss of power and control of the vehicle going interstate speed. Luckily no accidents and no injuries or fatalities. All the these vehicles using the 6.2L engines made by GM should be bought back by GM at full purchase price. A few months ago my vehicle underwent the recall procedure and passed. So the recall process is incomplete and shows no real problem solving procedures, These vehicles are a ticking time bomb to all…

The 6.2 GMC engine has been replaced. I took my Yukon in for a oil change, on the second engine, the tech said that it now has a new oil synthetic 0-40, and I have to have the oil changed every 3 thousand miles. I checked with a couple of mechanics and they all said, synthetic is good for at least 5 thousand miles, and just thicker oil will not solve the engine problems that have plagued GM. I am bringing this to your attention as these vehicles are pretty much worthless in the marketplace,…

I was driving down the highway and all at once a bunch of different lights and emergency warnings started flashing on my dashboard and my car was almost like sputtering like it wasn’t getting the gas it needed or something. You could feel lots of movement right up front and I was forced to pull over and get towed. They said the engine would need to be completely replaced.

On August 22, 2026, I was driving my 2023 GMC Yukon Denali with the 6.2L V8 at highway speed when the vehicle began struggling to maintain power while climbing a hill. The engine then developed a noticeable knocking sound. Shortly afterward, the engine shut off completely while the vehicle was moving, causing a sudden loss of propulsion. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop, but the engine would not restart. The electronic transmission also would not shift into Neutral and displayed a…

While we were visiting Canada, our GMC Yukon had fewer than 5,000 miles when its engine seized on the highway. The vehicle was taken to a GMC dealership in Canada. The dealer advised that the engine needed to be replaced, and it has now been replaced. We need to back to Canada to pick up the vehicle.

2020 GMC YUKON

We just purchased our Yukon from a dealership in February (2/7/26) and it was diagnosed with premature failure of at least one AFM valve lifter as it is causing engine misfires, shaking and stalling on 7/30/26. We just hit 67,000 miles on the odometer so we are just beyond the warranty coverage. The lifters were replaced previously by the previous owners on 12/16/24.

2024 GMC YUKON

The engine began knocking on startup and on acceleration. The vehicle would sometimes have difficulty accelerating. Upon taking it to the dealership, they were able to duplicate the issue. Upon inspection by the dealership, 2 rod bearings had spun and caused crankshaft damage. The manufacturer approved a full engine replacement under the warranty. There were no warnings lights, messages, or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the first incident.
