My 2020 Ford F150 was diagnosed by a shop to have the well known CDF drum issue. This issue is very expensive to repair and have experienced several safety concerns while conducting daily drives to and from work or other locations nearby. The transmission will not allow you to accelerate while on the freeway making it impossible to merge safely out of the way or even just get up to speed safely. This vehicle received a PCM update performed in strict accordance with Ford service procedures, per TSB/SSMO No. 24E12, on 1/02/26. At the time of the update, no stored or pending diagnostic trouble codes related to catalyst efficiency were present, and the vehicle was operating as designed. The brake line on the front passenger side was rubbing and failed. We were put at risk because the brakes lost fluid. We have had 4 identical vehicles with the same issue, 3 failed and 1 was replaced before failure. Not to my knowledge has it been inspected other than a dealership and tech. There were no warning lights.

This safety concern is related to the rear backup camera which sometimes goes dark, blank, has funny colors and fails to operate which could lead to backing i to something or someone.

Truck has reoccurring issue of shifting from 10 to 1 at highway speeds causing me to shift into neutral as to not WRECK. No check engine light or trans light, which makes proving it to dealer is impossible. Only happens once every few months. Through forscan I can see the OSS speed sensor drops voltage briefly then regains voltage. While accelerating onto the interstate, the vehicle suddenly downshifted into limp mode and the repair wrench showed on the screen. Fortunately, it was late at night as I was traveling and there were no vehicles behind me. This occurred 4 days after getting my vehicle back from having the oil pan replaced. While driving at 55mph in normal traffic, the transmission downshifted from 10th to 3rd gear, then shifted to neutral, then back to 10th gear. While the transmission was hunting I had to brake and pull onto the shoulder to keep from getting rear ended. Once the transmission figured out what gear to be in, I continued to drive the truck home. It has remained parked in the driveway since due to unknown reliability.
