On May 26, 2026, my 2019 Ford Expedition suffered a total systemic safety failure that resulted in my toddler being locked inside the vehicle in direct sunlight, requiring an emergency extraction. Continued transmission issues, losing power, hard shifts, down shifts at random times. Been to the dealership several times about this. Safety issues due to being on busy highways at 65+ mph and loss of power or down shifts puts myself and others at risk of a wreck. No warning signs. Started reporting issues in September of 2025. Dealership has made 3 attempts to fix and the issue hasn’t been resolved.

No accident, malfunction, warning lights, or safety-related issues occurred. Vehicle is operating normally at this time.

On May 16, 2026, my 2023 Ford Expedition with 6,197 miles caught fire while I was driving home from work. On two separate occasions while driving on the interstate in the rain, the wipers stopped working. Two of the times they stopped in the up position and once they stopped in the middle of the stroke and it was hard to see. After turning the wiper switch to different settings, the wipers started working again.

While backing up the vehicle, the front passenger seat belt retractor pretensioner suffered an inadvertent, spontaneous pyrotechnic deployment. There was a loud pop resembling a firecracker, immediately followed by smoke in the cabin and the odor of gunpowder. The force of the explosive deployment dislodged the interior B-pillar trim panels. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2018 Ford Expedition. The vehicle was purchased through a dealer sale. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy per a Carfax report. At the time of purchase per the title, the vehicle mileage was 56,562., However, the Carfax report stated that the mileage was 195, 253 on 3/2/26. The contact stated that the current approximate mileage was unknown.

Vehicle experiences repeated harsh shifting, hesitation, sudden downshifts, hard downshifts with engine redlining, and loss of acceleration during normal driving. Transmission intermittently jerks violently between gears and hesitates when pulling into traffic or merging onto the highway, creating a serious safety concern.
