While driving, car suddenly started overheating. Warning message asked me to pull over and let the car run idle. However, I was on a free way that was under construction and all shoulders were closed. So no way for me to stop for at least 4 miles. I was afraid that the engine would blow while driving the whole time. Took it to the dealer and they told me that the water pump is faulty. After looking at some Audi forums, it seems like this is a common issue with these vehicles. I’m surprised…

2021 AUDI RS 7

The car continues to smell like coolant and burns excessive oil. It has been taken in for service. Repairs have been attempted but problem still exists. On one occasion, service records indicate a test drive when the mileage remained the same. The oil consumption test I do not believe was performed correctly as I did not get the specific data metrics or points regarding starting point of measurement and end point. They also completed the test at only 1200 miles after requesting for them not to.…

turbo failure

2015 AUDI RS 7

Filed Apr 20, 2021

WE WERE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE RUNNING FINE. AFTER GETTING OFF OF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, WE APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION TO TURN LEFT. I SLOWED DOWN TO TURN THE CORNER AND THE VEHICLE STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER 5 MINUTES OF TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE AND GET OTHER VEHICLES TO GO AROUND, I WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE VEHICLE OVER INTO A PARKING LOT. WE GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS LATER TOLD BOTH TURBO CHARGERS HAD FAILED.

2015 AUDI RS 7

Filed Apr 9, 2021

VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC, RANDOMLY, WITH NO OTHER WARNING SIGNS. SUBSEQUENT ATTEMPTS TO RE-START THE CAR FAILED. CAR NEEDED TO BE PUSHED OUT OF TRAFFIC AND TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A TURBOCHARGER FAILURE IN ONE BANK (DRIVER'S SIDE) THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A TSB FOR THIS ISSUE FROM AUDI AS A RESULT OF A CLOGGED OIL SCREEN THAT LED TO OIL STARVATION AND EVENTUAL CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE TURBOCHARGER ASSEMBLY.

2014 AUDI RS 7

Filed Apr 5, 2021

I CONTACTED MULTIPLE AUDI DEALERSHIPS REGARDING CONCERNS ABOUT MY CAR CONSUMING LARGE QUANTITIES OF OIL IN-BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AND THAT THE OIL CAP HAD AN INCREASED AMOUNT OF SUCTION WHICH MY AUDI CERTIFIED MECHANIC SAID WAS AN INDICATION OF THE PCV VALVE FAILING. I ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT REPLACING THE PCV VALVE BEFORE IT WENT BAD AND RISKED TAKING OUT MY TURBOS AND ENGINE, WHICH HAPPENED TO A PREVIOUS AUDI S7 I OWNED, AND THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T LOOK AT IT AGAIN UNLESS IT WAS MAKING A WHISTLING…

2014 AUDI RS 7

Filed Apr 3, 2021

THIS VEHICLE SUFFERED SERIOUS MECHANICAL DAMAGE AFTER EXPERIENCING A CLOGGED TURBO SCREEN. THIS REQUIRED BOTH TURBOS TO DO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE NEW SCREEN FOR THE TURBO LUBRICATION SYSTEM, AS WELL AS THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW PCV UNIT. THIS REMAINS A MAJOR FAULT IN THESE ENGINES. CONTINUED OIL CHANGES AT THE RECOMMENDED MANUFACTURER INTERVAL WILL WORSEN AND INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF THIS FAULT. HOW DO YOU RECOMMEND OIL CHANGES AT 10,000 MILE INTERVALS. REDUCING THE OIL CHANGE INTERVAL…
