I was parked for a few minutes and I suddenly noticed a strong oder coming into my vehicle. I could not pinpoint what the smell was, but I knew that whatever was coming into the SUV was not safe. My screen started flashing warnings Service Required: Do Not Drive “Do Not Shift Gears”. After the warning, white smoke started to roll out from under the hood and into the vehicle. My vehicle got stuck on a EPB(electronic parking brake) and I was unable to disengage it. I tried a few things and none worked. I contacted Mercedes to tow it to the dealer and the tow truck came and driver had to “drag” my vehicle on to the flatbed. My car has been at Mercedes for 5 days now and they gave me a response saying that they are having a hard time trying to disengage the EPB. I’m aware of a EPB recall but my model is specified as being a part of it, however the issue is closely…

2024 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300

While driving the vehicle the engine started running rough, check engine light illuminated and it would not accelerate above 40 mph. There are 29,100 miles on the vehicle, it's been serviced on schedule by Mercedes and is owned by me since new. It is especially concerning due to the acceleration topic which could have been catastrophic if I were trying to merge into traffic. Dealer service say the camshaft bearing needs to be replaced. It seems this is very premature for the mileage on the…

While driving my 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 on California highways, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced sudden uncontrolled deceleration, unexpected transmission downshifts into 2nd gear, severe transmission jerking, and complete loss of accelerator response. 2021 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300

Filed May 20, 2026

While driving in my neighborhood at 25 MPH, my Mercedes GLC300 suddenly lost power and the check engine light illuminated. My car would no longer exceed 25-30 MPH, but I drove it straight to the dealership and they said it was a faulty cylinder head and will cost $10,000 to fix! After intense negotiations, they agreed to fix it for $4,205.58, which was better, but still, that’s a lot to pay for a manufacturer’s defect! My car is a 2021 with only 67,540 miles on it.
