Door handle failure. Well known issue. Internal door actuator commonly fails, causing you to be unable to open the door whether you are inside or outside the vehicle. Repair is also rather expensive.

Door actuator motor failed and door doesn’t open. Known in forums that it’s a bad design where water from washing or rain leaks and corrodes the actuators leaving failed doors from opening.

GOOD DAY GENTLEMEN: THIS REPORT IS CONCERNING A KNOWN, ONGOING AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH LEXUS LC500 CARS FROM 2018 UP TO AND INCLUDING 2025 COUPES AND CONVERTIBLES. The contact owns a 2024 Lexus LC500. The contact stated that the convertible top was leaking. While driving at approximately 70 MPH in the rain, water started to enter the vehicle. Driver’s side door handle/mechanism/latch failure results in issues with opening and closing door representing a potentially major safety issue. Door could open on its own at highway speeds resulting in mass injury and/or death resultant from driver falling out of uncontrolled vehicle.
