On Sunday, June 7th at around 1330, the sunroof spontaneously exploded outward while driving in Amarillo, TX. Was driving at highway speed, 60mph on I-27. No overpass above and no cars in front. Was around 95 degrees and sunny outside. Loud explosion inside of car, then sounds of glass going on top of roof and back deck of car. Driver of car did not swerve but immediately braked and pulled to side of highway but did cause immediate distress. Passenger in car also was extremely distressed…

I am writing to formally escalate an unaddressed, severe safety defect regarding my 2025 Acura Integra Type S (Current Mileage: ~5,000 miles). My vehicle is experiencing the exact mechanical sticky steering and steering gearbox binding symptoms outlined in NHTSA Campaign 24V-744. While driving at highway speeds, the steering wheel sticks in the dead-center position and requires a sudden, jerky physical force to break it free to maintain lane control. This creates an immediate, highly dangerous…

The steering wheel feels sticky whenever I take a curve, turn, or simply change lanes. I have to apply some force to recenter it. It has been an ongoing problem for about three weeks.

Vehicle: 2024 Acura Integra Affected Component: Steering Gearbox Assembly / Electric Power Steering (EPS) Related Recall: NHTSA Campaign Number 24V-744 / Acura TSB 24-054 Description of Incident: My vehicle is actively experiencing the dangerous sticky, heavy, and notchy steering defect outlined in NHTSA Campaign 24V-744, which causes a sudden increase in steering effort at highway speeds. The authorized franchise dealership previously performed the initial recall remedy (grease/spring kit…

Crash

Steering was sticky, shifty and driver could not recover resulting in loss of control and impact into an electrical pole and total loss of vehicle. Manufacturer and insurance are set to inspect vehicle. Police reported driver at fault as they did not have the mechanical / technical expertise / evidence to determine cause of accident when the recall notice was brought to their attention.

The sticky steering issue has returned even after the initial recall repair. Instead of replacing the entire steering rack, they only applied a temporary fix with grease the first time. The steering wheel stickiness comes and goes, which makes it even more frustrating and unpredictable. At times, the steering wheel even locks up during turns at speeds of 45+ mph, especially on highways and ramps, which is extremely concerning and unsafe. I brought the car back to the dealership, but they were…

1. On multiple occasions, the adaptive cruise control has slammed the brakes at freeway speeds with no vehicles in front or next to me. The dashboard display showing vehicles in proximity indicated no new vehicles were sensed during these incidents (meaning the automatic braking was randomly triggered with no visual or audible warning). On one occasion at night, I was in the left lane of the freeway at going 75mph when this system slammed the brakes, slowing me to almost 40mph, causing the car…

2024 ACURA INTEGRA

Filed Mar 25, 2026

I purchased this car 2 weeks ago and noticed when I drive over 45 mph the steering wheel kind of freezes up and shakes. A warning sign pops up that say steering required and has a symbol of a steering wheel with hands on each side of it. This lasts for about 10 seconds or so, then goes away. Feels really scary like I could get into an accident. This is the first place I have reported the problem to.
